How to use NextDNS on iOS 18/iOS 26

Here’s a step-by-step guide to set up NextDNS on your iPhone, covering both system-wide and app-based methods.

• Go to the App Store and search for NextDNS, install and open it.

• Enable NextDNS, then Tap “open Settings.”

• Search "VPN" and go to "VPN & Device Management."

• Tap "DNS," then select "NextDNS."

• Go back to NextDNS and tap the three dots at the bottom.

• Turn off “Use Ultra-Low Latency Network.”

• Open your phone’s browser, go to nextdns.io, and tap “Try it now.”

• Remember this ID in the Setup section, as it will be used later to sync your configuration to the NextDNS mobile app.

• Next, go to the Privacy section and tap "Add a Blocklist." Add the OISD, notracking, and AdGuard-related options to the list.

• In the Privacy section, find “Native Tracking Protection” and add Apple to the list.

• Now go to the "Denylist" section and add the following domains individually:

• akamai.net
• aaplimg.com
• mzstatic.com
• icloud.comedgekey.net
• edgekey.net
• iphone-service.com
• apple-dns.net
• apple.com
• gs-loc.apple.com

• Now, register your NextDNS account to save all settings to your account; otherwise, the settings will expire in 7 days.

• Next, go back to NextDNS on your phone and tap the three dots to open the settings.

• Enable "Use Custom Configuration" and enter the ID you recorded in Step 8.

• Make sure NextDNS is enabled. Now you can use PoGoskill to change your location in Pokémon Go.

Important Things to Note

• Please do not use a VPN at the same time.
• If using WiFi, enable Airplane Mode.
• If you’re using cellular data, turn off WiFi in your phone’s settings (not in the Control Center).
• If your location doesn’t change, try turning Location Services off and on in your phone’s settings (sometimes multiple times).
